We have been so busy this year. A lot of decisions have been made and finally George and I are going to Morocco in about a month.
Although we are busy, we did watch many good movies:
All that jazz
Barton Fink
Before the fall
Bloody sunday
Black orpheous
Colonel Redl
Knife in the water
Taxi driver
The conversation
The shadow warrior
Scarecrow
The best intentions
In one of the weeks, we watched "Barton Fink", "Knife in the water", "The conversation", and "Scarecrow" with 4 days. It was like a Man-Han-Quan-Xi.

Colonel Redl
I saw that twenty years ago, back in the golden age of repertory theatre in the Greater Boston Area, and thought it was absolutely brilliant.
The details escape me now, so I can only recount the remnants of a firmly held emotional memory:
Our protagonist, confronted with a pistol and the demand for self-slaughter, had to go through a personal ritual of motivation and devotion before he could pull the trigger.
WWI, atom bombs... the implications are endless.
